Chris Hicks hails from Oklahoma City where he earned such
honors as Musician of the year from 1989 through 1991. He
plays saxophone and guitar in every style from Jazz to
R&B, and Country.
Chris's first
big gig was with renowned jazz trumpeter Chet Baker. This
influenced his jazz development.
Chris's musical talent led him to Nashville in 1993 where
he joined RCA recording artists "Restless Heart" for two
years and was in the motion picture "Maverick" staring
Mel Gibson and Jodie Foster. This gave Chris the
opportunity to be on the Maverick sound track and was
Chris's first master recording session with producer Josh
Leo.
In 1995 Chris joined Reba McEntire's band through 2000
touring the US as well as Europe, Australia, and Brazil.
Currently Chris is serving as the Coordinator Of Academic
Operations at the ACM@UCO in Oklahoma City.
Chris has appeared on: Jay Leno's Tonite Show, Dave
Letterman, Rosie O'Donell, A&E "Live By Request" two
CBS Reba Special's the ACM Awards,and the CMA Awards.
Chris was recorded on Reba's Grammy nominated single with
Martina McBride and Trisha Yearwood, "On My Own", and
Kenny Rogers 2002 release.
Chris has also performed live with Sara Evans, Brooks and
Dunn and jazz trumpet great Chet Baker.
